Last week we spoke about the tone-deaf Molson campaign to put together an all-Canadian 2-4 for Canada Day, featuring beers from craft breweries. Well, the photos came out about the participating breweries, so we named and shamed all those involved who chose to team up with a company that has essentially proclaimed an all-out war on craft beer. Either you're looking to sell your brewery so you're cosying up to the big guys, or you're craft for life. Pick a side, my Gs.

We grabbed two great beers - The City from Henderson, an English Pale Ale with a phenomenal story behind it, brewed to represent the beer that folks would have consumed a century ago; and Shubie, a raspberry sour IPA from Wellington, a fruity, tart, summer crusher.
Read MoreIt's summer, it's hot af and our portable air conditioner only does so much, so for this episode, Tiffany and Cee hung out on their balcony - also known as their courtyard in the sky. We took a break from guests this week and had a chat while finishing off the beers from the latest Nickel Brook event Wobbly Pops that went down right before the podcast kicked off.
Read MoreOne such brewery that opened about a month ago in Aylmer, Québec, a short 20-minute drive from downtown Ottawa is Cinquième Baron Microbrasserie. In the short time they’ve been open they’ve pumped out a wide range of styles and have been met with a surge of interest, frequently selling out releases in a matter of days. Their branding is on point with a clean logo and colourful can label artwork. I got to try a handful of their recent releases. Let’s see how they’re tasting!
Read MoreYou may have noticed that we took a break last week to observe #AmplifyMelanatedVoices, but this week we're back with a dear friend who also happens to be the leading voice in diversity and inclusion in the beverage industry in Canada - Renee Navarro.
Read MoreSince 2013, the Toronto based Craft Brand Company has been partnering with brewers from around the world to bring their beers to the Ontario market. The breweries they partner with “have unique and intriguing branding and are powered by good people that they enjoy drinking beer with.” They’ve brought such notable beers as Omnipollo’s Zodiac IPA and the opinion splitting Prodromus Imperial Stout to LCBO shelves.
Read MoreWe didn't anticipate that this week's guests would be so damn relevant and of the moment. You may be familiar with Beny Ashburn and Teo Hunter of Crowns & Hops from episode #67 a few years back. Since the Dope & Dank days, the two entrepreneurs have come a long way, rebranding, winning grants, and executing successful crowdfunding efforts for their new brewery in Inglewood, CA, all while fighting for equality, inclusion, and diversity.
Read MoreSince we've got the hang of this whole Skype podcasting thing, we figured it was time to branch out so we got hold of BAOS alumni and mate Chris Farmer from Mr. Banks Brewing in Melbourne, Australia, and brought him back.
Read MoreThe last time we had Matt on the podcast, we went #2 in Japan. The man has power. Matt has become a very close friend of the podcast over the last year, with Cee appearing on his podcast Vox & Hops alongside a great collaboration video and giveaway for our Top 10 Breweries in Quebec for 2019 at the top of the year.
Read MoreMoving forward with the guests, this week we hung out with a good friend of the podcast, Noah Forrest, arguably the most sought after beer blogger in Quebec. Tiff and Cee had attended A Night With Nickel Brook prior to the podcast, walking through their flagship lineup with Head Brewer Ben, so they decided to make it an NB night.
Read MoreWho the hell knows what month it is anymore? I’ve been home for eight plus weeks, last weekend it was 20 degrees and sunny, this weekend it’s literally snowing. One thing that does feel at least somewhat seasonally appropriate is the return of spring and summer seasonal beers, and Toronto’s Henderson Brewing Company has two session beers hitting the shelves which can at least help us try to feel like time is still marching on at pace. Replacing their fall seasonal Export Stout and Vanilla Orchid Brown Ale are a new collab with Society of Beer Drinking Ladies, and a returning fan favourite from their Ides series!
Read MoreWe've been loving that we can now have guests on the podcast again, so we kept it going with another good friend and fellow BrewTuber, Chris from Hops & Bros. Based in Gatineau, QC, just over the bridge from Ottawa, ON, Chris has been a mate of the podcast for many years now so it was super fun to catch up.
